Haere ra te Rangatira, it with a heavy heart we say farewell to our ex President of the association Neil Warner. It was a great turn out from friend and ex miltary personal in New Plymouth on Thurs 27th October 2016. Neil worked tirelesly for the association not only as President but also as a member. He also contributed  financially over the years to see that we could do the sorts of things we needed. We wish Lorna and his children and wider whanau our love and support through this sad time, haere ra te tuakana, moe mai.

It seems we have been saying farewell to a few of our brothers in recent times. Two whom I had the privilege of knowing and serving with back in the 70s with 1 RNZIR are Brian Kapea and Destry Ross, gone but not forgotten.

Greetings from Wellington Hutt Valley Malayan Veterans Assn.

Some four years ago the Government gazetted September 16th to be known as Malaya Post War Operations Commemoration day, colloquially known to us as Malayan Veterans Day (MVA).

Each year the celebration and the commemoration gets bigger, and this years ceremony will again be held in Wellington at the National War Memorial on Wednesday 16th September at 1100 hrs.
